New Farm Park is a heritage-listed public park found in the popular inner suburb of New Farm. The region is one of Brisbane’s most exclusive inner-city suburbs thanks to its lush riverside location and its eclectic collection of open spaces. The park features plenty of open space, an adventure playground waiting to be discovered, and an impressive collection of plantlife. The streets surrounding the park are lined with trees and boast an extensive collection of unique Queenslander houses (look out for the ornate wraparound verandas). Elsewhere, there are plenty of quaint cafes to sip a cup of coffee in and a number of delis that are located in what is known as Brisbane’s Little Italy.
The expansive stretch of green space is a testament to New Farm’s love of the good life, and a day out here holds plenty of discoveries and unique sights. As well as several walking trails that weave through the scenery, there are cafes and ancient plant life to explore as well.

Take the Riverwalk
New Farm itself is tucked into the bend of a river, giving it fantastic views over the water. The river winds alongside New Farm Park, with a walking trail overlooking the pretty waters . While walking, keep your eyes peeled for any native creatures that might be hiding in the water or perched in the trees that tower above you.

Cycle Around
One of the best ways to explore New Farm Park is to take to two wheels and cycle your way around. The riverside trail offers plenty of stunning views, but there are numerous other cycle paths that you can explore during your time in the area. For example, you can cycle to the South Bank via Brisbane Riverwalk, which only takes 30 minutes.

Swing on the Playground
Your youngster’s attention will immediately focus on the colourful playground at the New Farm Park. Set amongst the brilliant greenery, the playground features swings, forts, and a huge climbing frame. Adults can park themselves on the nearby grass or benches and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet amongst the fig trees while their little ones play and burn off some energy.

If you’re looking to burn off some extra calories then New Farm Park can help! With several sports areas including basketball and netball courts and soccer fields, you can simply bring along a ball and get playing. There is also plenty of open space, perfect for games of frisbee, long dog walks or any other form of exercise you want to do!
